How to Manage Your Congregation on Airtable

One of the most powerful tools I’ve ever used in my rabbinate, in particular to manage my congregation is Airtable. I can navigate projects unlike ever before. The power of databases, which are not always accessible to us rabbis, is now in our hands. The ability to pull data together will change how you do you work.

As an example, just to show you how real this can be, in 2018-2019, in my department, I hosted 168 events with over 2860+ encounters. I know this because I used Airtable. Each event was recorded and documented.

You can deliver reports to your board or teams in ways you haven’t even considered yet.

This is going to be an overview of what might be able to do with this incredible tool.

Here is how you can manage your congregation on Airtable:

1. Manage projects as a whole.

I can see what projects I’ve got active and how many attendees I’ve gotten as whole. I can also manage volunteers and responsible staff.

2. Track each event.

Each event is tracked with attendance, location, and with each project. I can even do so by month, or by fiscal year. This also allows me to always be on top of my events by knowing exactly what is coming up.

3. See who is doing what.

I can track what volunteers are doing what. This allows me to better engage them over time. If I see a volunteer consistently working on learning projects, I know that I can come to them again based on that interest. I can also see which staff are managing which projects, if that is a function you require.

4. Understand the big picture.

By seeing all of this information, I can see trends, growth over time, and do better reporting as a whole.

This is how you’re going to manager your congregation on Airtable.

Thats it!
