The Five Steps to Make a Source Sheet on Sefaria

Making source sheets on Sefaria has never been easier! Text sheets are a core way rabbis, educators, and learners engage with Jewish texts.

It is incredible to pull together exactly the sources and texts you need, from primary texts to commentaries, Sefaria’s Source Sheet Builder is really easy to use. There are also capabilities to add your own texts, comments, discussion questions, and even grading, depending on your needs and contexts.

The ability to make a source sheet online that is printable and shareable is essential in our modern age. While there are a number of ways to make a source sheet on Sefaria, this tutorial will get you started!

There are a five steps in making your sheet:

Step 1.

Make a Sefaria account and login.

Step 2.

Click the person on the top right of the screen, which brings you to your account page. Select the sheets option and then the “Create a Source Sheet” button.

Step 3.

Browse your sources or type them in and then add your sources.

Tip: Change your “Divine Names” option under Format when you first start your page so you don’t forget later. Select what option is best for you and add more sources!

Step 4.

Add a title and save your sheet with the save button on the top right of the page.

Step 5.

Share your sheet by sharing the link, found with the share button on the top right of the page. You can also select options under File, to export your sheet to Google Drive, save it to your computer as a PDF, or print it directly. When you upload your sermons or lessons online to blog posts or on social media, posting a link is a great way to make your sources more accessible.

Thats it!

I use Sefaria all the time and I’m really excited that you can use it more effectively too!
